Our teen-friendly office space and skill in handling sensitive issues create a comfortable, nurturing environment where young men and women can feel at ease discussing health matters important to them. While we honor confidentiality to the limits of state law, we strongly value supporting and strengthening parent-child, and especially adolescent-parent, relationships; we make every effort to keep parents involved in all steps of their child's health care. In doing so, we join you in providing supportive relationships to give adolescents the confidence, information and tools to make positive lifestyle choices that will impact the rest of their lives.
We are happy to see patients on a consultation basis; if preferred, we can also assume responsibility for their ongoing primary care. Our goal is to work with these young men, young women, their families, and other health care providers to make sure they get quality services, especially for complicated issues such as eating disorders and for medical gynecology needs.
Our physicians offer primary care services and sick visits for the general health needs of teens and young adult men and women.
At your Annual Preventive Care Visit, the physician will review general psychosocial screening information, perform a full physical examination, address immunization needs, and determine if any screening laboratory evaluations are warranted. When appropriate, this may include a gynecological exam as appropriate. This visit fulfills the "annual preventive care" benefit for insurance purposes and is typically only covered once per year under most insurance plans. For more information, check with your health insurance carrier about your preventive health care benefits.
These visits are intended to review general wellness and address preventive health behaviors (growth and development, nutrition, stress management, risk behavior prevention, and general sexual health). A separate visit is required to address specific medical complaints or behavioral health problems.
In addition to routine annual preventive care visits (for check-ups, immunizations, and preventive health education), we offer Sick Visits for treatment for common acute and chronic problems ranging from colds and flu to acne and headaches.
Please assist us in providing quality care by bringing copies of immunization records, growth charts, and any relevant test results for our files.
